Act 1: ‘Cause everyone’s your friend, in New York City
When I was five years old, I used markers to draw my family’s truck on a street surrounded by skyscrapers and lights. Ever since that moment, I dreamt of going to New York City. At 24 years old, I finally found myself in possession of a ticket from PDX to JFK. Here are a few diligently narrowed down photos:
American Museum of Natural History.
Check out the narwhal in the background!
A whale that we laid under and stared up at the ocean ceiling.
John Muir the beautiful.
Wild Nothing at the Bowery.
The Strand bookstore.
So windy! This is my favorite photograph of the entire trip. My lovely windswept girlfriend.
Our 16th president.
Pukk dinner date.
The spiciest most delicious soup I’ve ever had. Tom Yum.
Welcome to the Island.
‘sNice. Pesto, sundried tomato, and tofu.
Bookstore in a barn. Many Atwood books purchased. Margaretville, NY
The streets are paved with diamonds and there’s just so much to see.
But the best thing about New York City is … you and me.
