Welcome to Siem Reap

I’m still trying to get through this million post recap of my time in SE Asia. This is Cambodia.

Siem Reap, I don’t have much to say about because the happy pizza really messed with me.  I had to devise a character to help me in my imagination get through the day (thanks to this idea from my friend Colin) and I picked the 9th doctor.  Jess loved Siem Reap, but I thought I would die there.  I’m being really honest with you, reader.

On a lighter note, up next: The Islands!: the best part of hiatus hiatus.

Nice pictures… would you be able to tell me some of the differences between Cambodian and Thai cuisines? I am not at all familiar with Cambodian cuisine.

    • Jess and I talked to some chefs who make traditional Cambodian cuisine in Siem Reap- they said Cambodian cuisine, compared to Thai, is not spicy and much more mellow. We made an amok and I found that to very much be the case.

Fresh ingredients are used in Cambodian cooking because the country does not have processing facilities for any of their food.
