Local natives: island kittens
Welcome to the little spot between Otres (beach) 1 and Otres 2 on the coast of Cambodia: Penguin Pablo. This was our launch pad to go to Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samloem islands.
Penguin Pablo guesthouses
Shells on Otres beach
This pretty much sums up the local vibe
Jess and I walked to Carpe Diem in the dark of night- the stillest night in my lifetime
Marinara pizza, coconut, and beer on Otres
Embarking, to Koh Rong Samloem
Sailing on a dive boat
Dragonfruit, melon, and banana bowl
We stayed at Robinson Bungalows on the island. Jess was stoked for the hammock on the porch. Between the two of us, their restaurant ran out of bok choi.
Well, hello friend
This is Lucky, eating a shell that people used as an ashtray
Second best dog guide, the crew from Bamboo Nest in Chiang Rai would have loved this island exploration
Swim, swam, swum
So, we met the island kittens (twins!) and they hung out with us all day, then at night they crawled into our bed, which was already sandy, so what’s some fleas between friends?
We named them Boone and Short Tail. We kept getting them confused though. I would be playing with Boone and telling him he was the best cat ever and so smart and funny and then he’d turn around and I’d be like “whoa! Short Tail!” What the heck!
Clothes drying and a cat playing with a leaf
Look at that belly
We definitely wanted to accidentally pack them into our backpacks to take home
So long cats, we’ll remember you forever
Sigh, island life
